Honoring Mary's Legacy of Love and Giving Back

The Mary Fund was created by family and friends to honor the patience, love, and generosity shown to Mary during the six years she attended school in the Lansingburgh School District. This fund gives back to the students, families, and staff who supported her, transforming gratitude into lasting impact for future generations.

About Mary

Mary Breton was a remarkable young lady who faced cystic fibrosis, kidney disease, and many other illnesses with courage, joy, and compassion. She lived life fully and never allowed her health challenges to define her or slow her down.

A Natural-Born Caregiver

Mary had a natural instinct to care for others. Even as a young child, she noticed when someone was struggling and took action, offering hugs, kindness, and comfort without hesitation. From guiding a nurse to a crying child at just two years old to welcoming a fellow student with warmth and acceptance every day on the school bus, Mary's heart for others was evident early on.

Boundless Curiosity

She loved school and loved reading. So much so that during a school vacation, she insisted on attending class, only believing it was closed after being walked to the door and seeing it for herself.

A Life That Continues to Inspire

Despite her many challenges, Mary celebrated life’s milestones with pride and determination. On June 20, 2004, she spent a joyful day at The Great Escape, conquering rides she had never attempted before. The following week, she proudly graduated from RPES, an achievement she had spoken about since kindergarten. On June 27, 2004, Mary received her angel wings.

Her spirit, kindness, and strength live on through The Mary Fund.
